Privacy Policy
Effective 22 October 2026
This privacy policy applies to the Rereader app for Android (the "Application"), published by Bay Software Limited (the "Service Provider").
What information does the Application collect?
The Service Provider does not collect, receive or store any personal information from the Application. There is no account or registration, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
What does the Application keep on your device?
To work, the Application keeps the following on your device only: how well you know each verse you have recalled, your lists of verses, your reading plans and the chapters read in them, your recent places in the Bible, and your settings. It also keeps short audio clips of spoken words, made by your device's text-to-speech engine, in its temporary cache. None of this is sent to the Service Provider.
Android may include the Application's data (not its cache) in your device's backup to your own Google account, if you have backup turned on. That backup is managed by Google under your Google account; the Service Provider cannot see it. You can turn backup off in your device's settings.
Does the Application connect to the internet?
Only to fetch the Recovery Version, which it reads online through Living Stream Ministry's Text Only Recovery Version API (api.lsm.org), as LSM's terms require. When you open a chapter of the Recovery Version, the Application asks that API for the chapter's text. The request contains the chapter's reference (for example "John 3:1-50"), the language, and the Application's own identifier and access token; it contains nothing about you. As with any internet request, Living Stream Ministry's server sees your device's IP address. Living Stream Ministry's handling of its server's data is governed by its own policies (www.lsm.org). The text is kept in memory only while you read, and is not stored on your device.
The King James Version, American Standard Version and Greek New Testament are included in the Application and need no connection.
Read aloud
When you turn on Read aloud, the text is spoken by the text-to-speech engine installed on your device (such as Google's speech services), under that engine's own privacy terms. The Service Provider receives nothing from it.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, the Application asks Android for permission to show notifications. The reminder is worked out and shown on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
Location
The Application does not collect your location.
Do third parties see information from the Application?
The Service Provider has no information about you to share. The only third party the Application contacts is Living Stream Ministry's API, as described above.
Testing feedback and contact
If you email the Service Provider (for example with feedback as a tester), your email and what you send are used only to reply to you and improve the Application. You may ask for it to be deleted by writing to rereaderapp@gmail.com.
Children
The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age, and the Service Provider does not market it to them. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Security
Because the Application collects no personal data, there is none held by the Service Provider to be exposed. Data on your device is protected by your device's own security.
Changes
The Service Provider may update this privacy policy. Changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Previous versions are available on request from rereaderapp@gmail.com.
